Work
Samples
All projects are filmed on a mixture of my Lumix S5 mirrorless camera and a Nikon Z6II. Projects are edited and supplemented with assets from the Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop, premiere, stock, express). Add-ons to the Lumix include a small rig matte box, anamorphic and diffusion glass filters, a Ronin Gimbal for stabilization, temperature adjustable lighting (on and off camera), VND filters, lenses from Lumix and vintage lenses from Canon and Helios. Multitrack audio, when applicable, is mixed using Cubase and is typically captured with two large diaphragm condenser microphones, or my attachable microphone as well as lapel microphones provided by Rode as well. Supplemental music is composed using acoustic instruments from my in house studio (full list of equipment in the audio section of my website) and VST's from Spitfire Audio.
Seven Lakes - TCGC State Championship 2024
Nothing quite compares to the final steps in a competitive season of marching band or in this case, indoor drum line. This video documents and captures the sheer emotion present at the final rehearsal and subsequently the final performance.
Orchestral Recording (Multi-cam & Audio)
Videos like this are possible with a combination of video and audio equipment. 4 microphones and two cameras were combined to create this simple but effective recording of Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copeland. This was fully edited and mixed by me.
Grand Lakes JH - Band Recruitment 2022
One of my favorite types of videos to offer is something that provides you with reusability. A recruitment video for your team, workplace, etc. is a great way to take your dollar further and provide longer value. This video was filmed over the course of 2 days with the Grand Lakes Junior High band and was created to show the incoming class what being in band is all about. Additionally, this was a part of a series I completed for Grand Lakes. A video was produced for the fine arts, the choir, the orchestra and the band.
Show Trailer / Uniform Reveal - CTJ 2023
I produce high quality show trailers for band programs nation wide! These trailers serve as samplings of the conceptual elements of your marching band show and even expansions of those ideas. I love completing these because it gives band directors and students a chance to show the wider community how serious and cinematic these production can and will be in the fall. It helps buy in from administration as well as new parents who may not quite understand the scope of your next production!
Show Trailer - Lawrence Township 2023
This show reveal was a special one to me. Not only was I able to write a poem specifically for the show, but I even recorded myself reading it. This Voiceover ended up being used in the bands final production free of charge!
Emily & Jacob Engagement Feature
Emily & Jacob are close friends and it was an honor to film their big day. I wanted the edit to feel intimate, celebratory and to tell the story of the proposal in a way that could be consumed by those who were unable to attend. The filming took place over the course of only 4 hours - 2 at the proposal and 2 at the drinks that took place that evening. I film weddings professionally and have filmed them all around Houston, Austin and Dallas.
Oh, Hooray - NPR Tiny Desk Submission / 2023
The NPR Tiny Desk Contest is a great opportunity for unsigned artists to find some exposure. The video must contain a live performance and a desk. No problem. For this video we organized a shoot with friends and family, built the set from cardboard and reused linens, recorded the audio using a combination of my available microphones and equipment and overall we just had an excellent time.
Oh, Hooray - Music Video "The Wasteland"
This being my third music video I wanted to do something more narrative in motivation. To accomplish this I chose to capture the night of two characters who are living in their car and working rideshare. This is a story near and dear to my heart as I worked as an uber driver for many years making ends meet as a teacher in Georgia. Sleeping in my car to continue the work was a familiar situation. I used our LED lighting to depict the band in a floating heads type of aesthetic. I was very happy with the overall product we acheived!
Blossom Aloe - Full Concert Recording
It has been such a blast recording full concerts for Houston's own "Blossom Aloe." This video in particular used a combination of a Nikon and Lumix mirrorless camera to give the viewer a full view on the event. All title cards were filmed practically and the VHS effect is authentic as well. Using a vintage box TV I am able to transform footage into this nostalgic look.
